Our Mission

The mission of Ryan United is to bring together resources for education, enforcement, and the development of programs related to the tracking and management of Sex Offenders. Working with Criminal Justice Professionals throughout the country, Ryan United will strive to assist citizens and communities gain a better understanding of how to protect themselves against sexual predators. Ryan United will work diligently with prosecutors, court systems, and law makers to ensure that our nations children will remain protected and that a fate such as Ryan's will never happen to another child.

A Brief Overview

Ryan United started in 2003 rooted in the experiences of Derek VanLuchene and his family, who lost his brother, Ryan to a violent sexual predator in 1987. Since that time Derek invested himself in his response to this tragedy first by becoming a law enforcement officer in Montana and by establishing Ryan United. Derek has traveled the country sharing his story and meeting with other victim families, networking with professionals and groups focused on putting a stop to sexual predation against children in America. Ryan United has been represented in several forums around the country, and has worked with hundreds of people over the last several years ranging from victims of this crime to former Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez. Motivate people to engage or stay engaged in activities to stop sexual predators

Strengthen the community of people and programs active in this area, challenging groups to come together and focus on the problem by reducing bureaucratic barriers or other limitations in their effectiveness

Teach service providers

Assist victims of crime
